Celebrate Independence in Philadelphia!

The Glorious Cause of America

Join Landmark Events historians Bill Potter and Dan Ford on the battlefields and in the buildings where the foundations of our nation were forged. We will travel to Brandywine, Valley Forge and Princeton studying the battles fought by the rag-tag Continental Army against the most powerful army in the world, Great Britain. It was a time filled with remarkable events that can only be attributed to the Hand of God.

Let No One Despise Your Youth

In his book, 1776, author David McCullough noted “...at such times many were being cast in roles seemingly beyond their experience and capacities ... George Washington was Commander in Chief at only 43, John Hancock was President of the Continental Congress at 39, John Adams was forty, and Thomas Jefferson a mere 32.” Together, we will learn the stories of these, and many more, remarkable and resilient men, benefitting from their example.

The Great Awakening

Princeton Cemetery is the resting place of many giants of the Great Awakening, including Jonathan Edwards, Samuel Davies and John Witherspoon. We will look into their lives and study the great impact they had on our nation, along with contemporary theologians Charles Hodge and B.B. Warfield, who are also laid to rest in Princeton.

Food, Fellowship and Fun

Finally, there’s no more fitting place to be than Philadelphia on the 4th of July. Although our tour formally ends Friday the 3rd with a banquet in the Historic City Tavern — site of the first 4th of July Celebration attended by Washington, Adams and many other Founding Fathers in 1777 — we’re staying an extra day to celebrate and invite you to join us!
