Lewis & Clark and More! Tour May 7-8 in St. Louis, MO
As the gateway to the West, St. Louis greeted pioneers like Daniel Boone, explorers Lewis and Clark, and thousands of immigrants from Germany and other European countries. The city was the key to holding Missouri in the Union for Abraham Lincoln in 1861 and became the recruiting and supply depot for troops fighting in the trans-Mississippi theatre of the Civil War. Walk with historian Bill Potter as we discuss the providences that made this city and surrounding area so vital to the American story.

Riches of Richmond Tour June 10-11 in Richmond, VA
Tour Richmond’s unique historic sites with historian Bill Potter of Landmark Events. Virginia is the “Mother of Presidents” as well as the “Cradle of the Nation” and many important places are yet redolent with the memories of the Virginia founders. We will learn about Samuel Davies at his Pole Green Church, Patrick Henry at his home at Scotchtown, and Virginian Presidents Tyler, Monroe and Davis at their final resting place in Hollywood Cemetery. It is unconscionable to tour Richmond and not address the Civil War, so we’ll travel to Chimborazo Hospital, the largest military hospital in the world in the 1860s, as well as Cold Harbor and Gaines Mill Battlefields that provided plenty of work for the hospital staff. (Mr. Potter speaks at the HEAV conference June 11-13.)
