We will also take a genuine hay wagon tour with our friend Joel Salatin at his home, Polyface Farm, where he’ll show us how he is transforming agriculture in an area known during the Civil war as “the breadbasket of the Confederacy.” Far more than a simple farmer, Joel is a committed Christian whose keen observations, unique applications and winsome presentation have brought hope and humor to countless people. What better way to wrap up our tour than a BBQ supper at “The Old Gilham Place” — the classic Victorian home of Bill and Leslie Potter! There will be food, fun and fellowship for all as we recap the tour and set the stage for Saturday’s 154th Anniversary Battle of New Market Reenactment. If it rains, you will be stuck inside or on the large veranda porch with more than 6,000 books on history, theology, and militaria along with plenty of food and friends!
