Richmond — Monuments, Memories and More!
oin historian Bill Potter of Landmark Events as we visit unique historic sites of the Richmond area. Virginia is the “Mother of Presidents” as well as the “Cradle of the Nation” and many important places are yet redolent with the memories of the Virginia founders. We will visit a variety of key venues that will educate and inspire us, including the site of Samuel Davies’ Polegreen Church, Patrick Henry’s Scotchtown, St. John’s church, and fantastic Pamplin Park where they tell the story of the common civil war soldier in uncommon ways.

You won’t want to miss the remarkable story of President John Tyler, whose grandson Harrison Tyler (yes, grandson of the 10th president!) still resides at the site of the fantastic Fort Pocahontas on the banks of the James River. Other stops include the Confederate White House and the fascinating Chimborazo Medical Museum. We will conclude our tour with a trip down the historic and embattled Monument Avenue, where magnificent statues of our heroes still stand — for now. Hope to see you there!
