Every great work is made up of a body of committed people with diverse gifts and varied roles. In Nehemiah’s day, each family had their place on the wall, rebuilding what had been destroyed with a trowel in one hand and a sword in the other. In our own War for Independence, George Washington was known as the sword, Thomas Jefferson the pen, Patrick Henry the trumpet, and John Hancock was the purse.
