“Pick Out a Good Father and Mother and Begin Life in Ohio” Wilbur’s Advice on How to Succeed in Life
n 1903 Wilbur and Orville Wright changed history in a fundamental way by taking flight in the first powered machine carrying a pilot. Their intellect and ability were remarkable, exceeded only by their perseverance, focus and sacrifice. Bishop Milton Wright developed a voracious appetite for discovery in his boys, and their sweet mother, Susan, nurtured what the Bishop had planted, keeping every little toy and other invention her sons cobbled together. From tiny toys, to bicycles and then airplanes, the Wrights stuck together, stayed humble and changed the world.
