Overnight on a Battleship!

ew things are more thrilling to a boy than overnighting aboard a real historic battleship in bunks where real sailors slept almost 80 years ago. We will likely have the ship to ourselves after 5pm as we are the only ones scheduled to spend the night! That’s part what we’re offering one our affordable family tour at the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park on May 8.

Join Landmark Events Historian Bill Potter as he tells the stories of how God worked through men and events to bring about victory in WWII. We will spend the day exploring the storied battleship USS Alabama, along with the oldest American submarine on public display, the USS Drum. There’s also a hangar full of vintage aircraft and acres of artillery and tanks to peruse within the park.

All family members can stay aboard after the park closes for pizza (or bring your own supper) in the officer’s galley while Mr. Potter tells us of Father and Son Medal of Honor recipients. Afterwards, fathers and sons can spend the night in the original bunks aboard the Battleship Alabama.
