New Scholarships Available!

New scholarships have become available for those interested in attending the Civil War Symposium in Appomattox, September 1–4. If finances are the only hurdle preventing you from attending this deep dive into the biggest event in our nation’s history, from a distinctly Christian perspective, we may be able to help. Write us at info@landmarkevents.org and tell us what you need. We will do what we can. It never hurts to ask.

The Civil War, known by various names, remains the most pivotal event in American history, shaping national identity and leaving unresolved issues that persist today. The conflict’s immense toll—750,000 dead, widespread loss, and lingering North–South animosities—continues to fuel ideological debates over its meaning and legacy. Join the Civil War Symposium in Appomattox, Virginia, to rigorously examine this haunting period through a biblical framework, dismantling oversimplified narratives.

Appomattox Courthouse Fieldtrip

Rich Christian Fellowship

We’ve secured exclusive use of a historic venue in the heart of old Appomattox for presentations during the day and fellowship in the evening—there’s a 4’ outdoor event grill we should put to good use for lunch or dinner. We hope you come away equipped with new tools to interpret history accurately, and with a host of new friends you can stand shoulder to shoulder with as we labor to together for the cause of Christ.

NOTE: As part of our Future of History project, emphasis is placed on how the history has been recorded, why it was recorded the way it was, and why it matters today. All are welcome to attend and all will benefit by better understanding where we are, how we got here, and how best to move forward in hope and joy.

If you love history, especially from a Christian perspective, it is a wonderful week with kindred spirits. You will learn a lot from very knowledgeable historians, have fun, and make new friends. Thank you, Landmark Events!” —Judson H.
