A Hero Goes Home

 hero of mine was called home over the weekend, leaving a legacy of faith, love and joy. Dr. Jim Johnson served as Chief Academic Officer and Associate Professor of Apologetics at the Institute of Creation Science, and was a brilliant man. His love of the Lord and His creation was evident in the rigorous study and contagious wonder Jim consistently expressed. Dr. Johnson excitedly illuminated amazing flora and fauna for our guests as we rafted down the Grand Canyon last year, and he was over the moon having seen Puffins on Staffa, a remote island in the Hebrides on our Scotland tour.

Throughout my personal and professional interactions with Jim Johnson, he was a true gentleman. His vast accomplishments were motivated by an insatiable desire to know how things worked so he could better know the One who created those things, and share all that knowledge with patience, enthusiasm and humility, enabling others to know that Creator also. I’m a better man having known Jim Johnson.
