Spirit of 1776—Philadelphia! July 6-10
ome with us as we showcase the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia, the veritable Cradle of Liberty. This unprecedented founding document in the formation of the American nation was the genius of long-nurtured ideals of Christian liberty. Centuries before, driven by zeal and faith, explorers and reformers left Europe with a mere vision and reliance on God alone to cross the ocean and build anew. With them, they carried a fierce commitment to Biblical law over rule of man, aspiring to forge a country that future ages would regard as the pinnacle of earthly justice, generosity, and liberty.
The men and women of the American War for Independence believed in this vision so deeply that they staked everything on it. Many gave their lives, others their fortunes, and still more endured permanent estrangement from close friends and family—all for an ideal that, in their time, existed only in hope.
Bring your children, bring your grandchildren, and stand with Dr. Bill Potter on the banks of the Delaware River where Washington’s miraculous crossing occurred, and at Independence Hall where the gift of great minds, providentially and at the 11th hour, agreed to risk their lives by affixing their names to this most celebrated document—together we can make history live again!
