Lexington Green

It happened in only a matter of minutes, yet the echoes of Lexington Green have been heard around the world for more than two centuries. On the morning of April 19, 1775, seventy-seven Massachusetts militiamen stood before hundreds of British Regulars. Someone fired “the shot heard round the world,” and the American Revolution was underway.

Walking across Lexington Green, you’ll stand where ordinary farmers, tradesmen, pastors, and fathers chose principle over safety. Their willingness to defend their rights under God ignited a movement that would transform history. As Dr. Bill Potter guides you through the events of that fateful morning, you’ll discover that Lexington was not simply the beginning of a military conflict—it was the visible expression of convictions that had been cultivated in New England churches, homes, and town meetings for generations.
