Bunker Hill Monument

The Battle of Bunker Hill was technically a British victory, but it forever changed the course of the Revolution. On June 17, 1775, inexperienced colonial militia stood their ground against the finest professional army in the world, proving that free men fighting for their homes and liberties could withstand overwhelming force. Though forced to retreat, the Americans inflicted staggering casualties, prompting a dying British colonel to say, “A few such victories would ruin the Army“ and Nathanael Green, commander of colonial forces stated, “I wish we could sell them another hill at the same price.” Standing atop Breed’s Hill, where the monument now rises over Boston Harbor, you’ll gain a fresh appreciation for the courage and sacrifice of those citizen-soldiers.

Join us this August as we celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary by walking in the footsteps of the men and women who shaped our nation’s founding. Together we’ll discover the enduring principles of faith and liberty that inspired the American Revolution, guided by Dr. Bill Potter and enriched by the warm fellowship that has become a hallmark of every Landmark Events tour.
