Was George Washington Really America’s First President?
ost Americans know George Washington as our first President—and rightly so under the Constitution. Yet before Washington took office, a series of presidents guided the Continental Congress through the darkest days of the Revolution. Their names have largely disappeared from our history books.
Why? Were they unimportant, or did later generations merely choose a simpler story?
The Colonial USA 250 Symposium will explore these forgotten leaders while reminding us that God accomplishes His purposes through faithful servants whose names are scarcely remembered by history and whose influence far exceeded their fame.

Join us as we rediscover America’s founding through the lens of Scripture, primary sources, and God’s sovereign hand in history.
