very historian makes choices. Some events are highlighted. Others receive only a passing mention. Still others quietly disappear from the narrative altogether.

The question is not whether history is interpreted—it always is. The question is whether those interpretations faithfully pursue truth or merely reflect the spirit of the age.

At the Colonial USA 250 Symposium October 1-3, we’ll examine the people, ideas, and events that have too often been forgotten—asking not simply what happened, but why those stories were neglected.

Because honoring truth requires us to seek the whole story, not merely the convenient one.
