History Tours and Homeschool Conventions

2020 marks the seventh year Landmark Events has offered providential history tours across the country and around the world! It is also the fifth year that we have joined with Teach Them Diligently Homeschool Conventions. David Nunnery and his wife Leslie established these conferences to encourage families toward discipleship in the home and to present the Gospel to those around them—and they do an outstanding job!

This year, Teach Them Diligently has expanded to 7 cities: Nashville, TN, Rogers, AR, Waco, TX, Mobile, AL, Denver, CO, Columbus, OH, and Athens, GA. Landmark Events will be participating in four conventions, hosting a booth in the Vendor Hall while Bill Potter speaks in several sessions. We’ve also built some interesting and affordable local tours preceding each convention for those that would like some local history from a distinctively Christian perspective. The best way to learn history is on the ground where it happened, and here’s your chance!

Take a look below and see if there is a tour or convention that suits your schedule. We hope to see you there!

All the details are taken care of, so you and your family can be immersed in the experience of learning history from a Christian worldview.” —Tom W.

Join military historian Bill Potter on this fascinating tour of the Civil War in Middle Tennessee. We will visit several sites in Nashville on Wednesday and more sites in Spring Hill/Franklin on Thursday, ending in time to make the opening session at the Teach Them Diligently Homeschool Convention at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville where Bill Potter will be speaking.

Join us in Mobile, Alabama as we spend 24 hours surveying two of the most historic sites in this southern seaport. After a day of exploring a storied battleship, an authentic submarine and perusing vintage aircraft, fathers and sons can spend the night in the original bunks aboard the Battleship Alabama. We will end in time to make the opening session of the Teach Them Diligently Homeschool Convention at the at the Arthur R. Outlaw Convention Center.

Bring your family as we look into a place and a period that exploded with creativity and birthed inventions that literally transformed the world. 1903, Dayton residents had more patents per capita than any other U.S. city. Landmark Events historian Bill Potter will guide us through some great venues, providing a distinctly Christian interpretation of the sites and stories we encounter. We guarantee you will leave inspired and encouraged! The tour ends in time to make the opening session at the Teach Them Diligently Homeschool Convention in Columbus where Bill Potter will be speaking.

I liked the fact that we could ride separately to the different venues. If we didn’t want to visit one, we didn’t have to. Or we could leave it early or stay longer. I liked the freedom we had to explore on our own or with the group. This tour went above and beyond my expectations. I can’t wait to participate in another one in the future.” —Carol R.
