It is not merely our forefathers that we are faced with defending, but their code of conduct which reflects the biblical principles they held dear and that Christians must embrace in every generation.

Our faith is a victorious faith. And for us at Landmark Events it has been our honor and passion to show to the next generations the historical out-workings of God‘s marvelous doctrine of redemption and requisition. It is eternal and transcendent and has withstood the eras of Nero and Hitler -it is sufficient for our day.

Tearing Down False Philosophies

Historical revision continues in every era, sometimes as new facts come to light, more often to force conformity to the contemporary (and temporary) pieties and ideologies of the age.

When Mao Zedong led the Cultural Revolution in China he demanded they be rid of the “Four Olds” of the pre-revolutionary eras:  Old Ideas, Old Culture, Old Habits, and Old Customs. They tore into their own history and destroyed texts, monuments, cemeteries, anyone who protested or got in the way, and other “reactionary” reminders of their past. They re-wrote the history books, all to promote the struggle to build a utopian socialist society. Tragically, radical elements of such violent ideology have emerged in our country, created and sustained by an academic community, media empire  and political ignorance weaned on 1960s radicalism and the immorality of 21st century post-modern philosophy.

We however, are called again and again to return to the old paths, to remember and not to forget the stories of our Christian fathers. Our own national past is lavishly rich and undergirded by the pillars of Christendom from its very beginning. These voices of faith, reason, law, and liberty still hold sway in many places. Landmark Events is one such place, a small bulwark against the anarchy of the so-called social justice movement, stifling political correctness and the juvenile “wokeness” of the radical levelers. Across the globe there is a rapidly growing minority that hungers to regain their lost purpose and responsibility, to know where they came from and to defend their cultural inheritance.

At Landmark Events, we do not just defend, we are committed to taking back historical territory through education at the places in our nation that tell the story, and we do so from a Gospel-centered worldview. God defines good and evil, and history is always more complicated than the ephemeral nonsense that popular culture demands. Insofar as the “olds” are rooted in the Christian faith and evaluated through the eternal moral precepts of God, we will hold fast, as the war of the worldviews extends into the future. “We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:5)

When we revisit the past together, we can stand on the banks of the Delaware and recount our Lord’s miraculous hand in Washington’s crossing. We can behold the ruins of the ancient Colosseum and remember that no empire lasts forever, save that of our God. We can praise Him in the green hills of Ireland for choosing a remnant to preserve His Gospel when Europe plunged into barbarism. When we recount history, we are recounting His faithfulness; our souls and those of our children are being fed and nurtured, infused with a “holy confidence” that allows us to dream big dreams for the Lord—and that is how you change the world.
